The Homestead is a completely different kind of eco-luxury lodge. With innovative architecture carefully designed to blend into its surroundings, it combines 21st century construction technology with 19th century architecture. It mixes sustainable practices with wonderfully attentive service.  There is nowhere on Earth quite like it as a haven of tranquility, discovery and reflection.

Designed Naturally

The Homestead is hewn from local stone and its central feature is a stunning elevated structure that houses bars and dining areas, a world-class restaurant, infinity pool and the all important viewing platform over the watering hole. On the flat roof a tranquil garden adds another layer of harmony to the landscape. There are 12 unique suites, six with their own roof gardens, six with their own pools.

Most importantly, everything we’re doing is rooted in our commitment to conservation. The Homestead is being created with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment. It will open in early 2022 and we will be taking reservations very soon. Sign up for the latest news.

    This structure connects to a beautiful, natural escarpment and a watering hole at the other end. When finally completed, the roof will be planted using the same grass that covers the nearby grasslands to add another layer of natural harmony to its design.

    And perhaps most importantly, everything we are doing fully aligns with our commitment to conservation. We are carefully managing the construction of The Homestead to ensure that the sensitive ecosystem is disrupted as little as possible and that we exceed the requirements of the law. Toxic materials are never used and construction waste is disposed of without any damaging impact to the earth.

Accommodations

The phrase “five-star luxury accommodation” does not do justice to The Homestead. It will be, quite simply, the best safari lodge in South Africa, if not the world. Each of its six pool suites come with a beautiful private deck, its own infinity pool and breath-taking views. The six garden suites are designed for groups or for a family. Each structure features three stunning suites with individual decks for relaxation and separated by a courtyard centrally. The magnificent celebration suite is the ultimate in super-luxury accommodation. It must be seen to be believed.
